So I'm redoing the drive train of my 22 year old Serotta CSI. Looking at Campy Chorus 11 - but can't stand the giant black carbon cranks on a fairly classic steel bike.
Shop I'm working with recommended the White Industries VBC square taper cranks. Does any one have any experience running these cranks with Campy chain / RD / FD?
WI says they are optimized for SRAM / Shimano - any thoughts with Campy?
Thanks

They'll work great. For what it's worth, save some cash and get a KMC chain while you're at it.
11 speed is functionally identical across brands in spacing, including cassettes.

Yup, they work for campy 10 or 11, use em on both.

Several thousand miles into this exact set up-- WI VBC on Campy Athena running gear and chain -- and no complaints and even some compliments. The only negative is that I feel like the chainrings wear prematurely--or at least faster than my old NR chain rings did in 1980. Still, shifting is fast and certain. Runs quiet.

Have black vbc 48/32 square taper paired with Athena 11 shifters and cassette, and a KMC chain. Works flawlessly. Looks way nicer than any other modern crank I've seen.

The only modern crank that, to my eye, has nice classic lines and proportions is the TA Carmina--at about twice the price of the VBC crank. it is very beefy and stiff (I put it on my Gran Criterium) and I suspect the rings will outlast the WI rings.

I ran VBC with campy, no problems shifts fine.
Now don't expect the VBC to shift as good as a campy crank or a praxis crank but it shifts fine.

It's a lovely bit of kit.
Oddly enough (in a good way, I guess), my VBC shifts just as well as my Chorus 11, if not better.

my two main bikes are campy-11 with VBC cranks. No problems.
