Hi, wanted to share some pics of a Cinelli I was able to get a hold on. I believe its from 1984.

If anybody could share some more info I would really appreciate it. The bike is specked out with Campy S.Record.

I just need to find some pedals and replace the seat post which is a bit scratched.

What kind of info are you looking for?

Not much to say. It’s a nice SLX cinelli in good condition with a complete group.

Ride it and keep your eye on that 1r stem!

Beautiful! You might try fine steel wool and then polish on that seatpost, if the scratches aren't deep it'll come out looking like new.

Ive been checking online, and cant find many pics of vintage Cinelli where the Cinelli saddle and handlebar tape are matching leather. I wonder if that was common back in the day?

Any idea on how many years Cinelli produced SLX SCorsa frames?

Mine's a late 90s Supercorsa in blue. It has the semi-vertical dropouts and 130mm dropout spacing. I'm running an early 2000s Daytona/10-sp groupset and Daytona/Mavic wheelset I took off a Serotta Concours when I sold the frameset. I think it's a very nice bike - a bit on the heavy side but gorgeous. I get more compliments on this one than any bike I've owned. I've posted a few photos here but need to take some more.

Oh yeah, another suggestion - we generally run the brake cable housings behind the bars and put the front quick release lever on the left side & horizontal when closed.

My bad on the cable placement, you can tell im new in the vintage bike scene!

Im 32 years old and just got hooked on vintage bikes, love how those bikes that where made before I was born keep looking so awesome!

For a season I rode an SLX Marinoni which was sweet if a bit of a kidney rattler. If you find the ride too harsh, cutting the tire pressure a bit helps. I threw on some cross-four spoked wheels and that also seemed to help, but it still did dance a bit on washboard roads.

Cool bike.

If you look at the bottom of the bottom bracket shell, you should see a serial number. The first two digits designate the year of manufacture. My guess is that it is newer than 1984.

Plenty of cable housing there to go over the bars and maybe trim a bit. :). Your new bike looks like a clean example. Maybe late 80's/early 90's? Others know these better than me. I've had a 72 SC for 30 years now, love it. You'll like the ride.

Mine is an ‘89 (blue) with similar features to yours. I’ve always really liked that gray color.

I think that this is the Ten Speed Drive catalog with your bike: http://velobase.com/CatalogScans/Cinelli/Cinelli_10_Speed_Drive.pdf.

Looks like my 84 SC, detail wise. As mentioned, the serial number will have the date.

I have a set of NOS Campagnolo pedals with clips from that era I would sell.

Tex, I think the seat tube decal was only like that in 84-85. They moved the ‘Cinelli’ above the fd after that.

Lovely SC! I may have some spare Cinelli C dots for the rear seat stays, if yours fall off. Or check if they are loose and peeling and re-glue.

Happy riding!

Looking at the fork crown, it looks like a Cinelli Mens Sana (sp?), but I could be wrong...

You betcha I ride it. Not nearly as fast or as far as it deserves, but I ride it.

I've had it less than a year, so I can't claim to be the one who put all the patina on it (and there is a bunch), but I love the way it rides. The others in the regular rotation are an Eisentraut and a Ron Cooper; two fantastic bikes and I love them both. But I love this Cinelli more. More often than not, it's the one I reach for.

Man... i am speechless. This is it. It´s how racing bikes looked like when i started to pay attention. It looked perfect. It looked expensive and it was expensive. It looked like jewellry but worked like a rocket ship... well, not exactly. Actually it looked better than function.
Now THAT is silver campagnolo. Don´t try to copy it w/ Potenza. The era is GONE.

It's true. The new silver stuff looks fine, I'm grateful for it as it's what I'd ride if I were building up a bike today, but jewelry it is not...
