what is the difference in reach between shimano and campy brifters
using the same bar.

I guess if you only ride on the hoods, this is an issue.
I couldn't shorten my stem by 1 or 2 cm's, as this would mess up all the
other positions on the handlebar. Oh well, guess i'll have to stay with
my campy levers. :)

the distance from the nose of the saddle to the center of the handlebar does not change for me based on component choice.

what about when using a Brooks saddle that has be tighten over the years :p
the Swift on my Kirk is .5cm longer than my other two Swifts

agreed, i have a left campyand a right Dura Ace lever on one bike and there's no real difference in reach
