Hello, I'm looking to replace the old and more importantly FUGLY fork on my poprad disc. I have a SP PD-8 dynamo hub (http://www.sp-dynamo.com/8seriesdynamo%20hub.html) and I don't think I can convert it to a thru axle. I was looking at a few different forks, and while I know I can get a cheap soma steel fork, I'm interested in a few carbon ones, especially this fyxation fork (https://www.fyxation.com/products/carbon-fiber-adventure-fork) that has bottle mounts on the fork. I'm new to disc brakes and don't have any thru axle bikes as well, can I convert the fork for use with a QR hub?

I think I want to go the other way, use a QR hub in a TA fork. Thanks!

So the issue is that you have a QR hub and want to buy a TA fork?

Probably better off to find an aftermarket QR disc fork. Ritchey, Whisky, 3T and Enve have all made QR disc CX forks. You can check w Shutter Precision but I don’t think your hub is convertible.

It would be nice if it were, I have one of those and I wish I had bought the TA and used an adapter.

The TA SP hubs came with a QR adapter at one time, I 'm using one right now. Two sets of wheels for that bike.

looking more at a thru axle hub I can see why this is not a good idea. Thanks for the answers everyone.

I will probably go for the cheap steel fork for now, big sale today from forum sponsor bike tires direct.

If you just have the hub then I'd sell it and buy the thru axle hub. I have the SP PD-8X 15x100 and it comes with an adapter to QR.

Do you really want to buy a fork as a compromise to a hub? In time you will probably wish you had got the fork you wanted from the outset.

yeah hub is already built into a well loved wheelset
