There was a thread not a few months back with info on this. I have First gen Fizik R1, those a full, heavy weight leather. Great cool and early winter shoes. Also Specialized ‘74 are full leather, lighter shoes compared to the Fizik. I think you can still find these two in the market.

Thought I read something a while back about Dromarti going out of business, but I can't find anything about it now. Seems like a lot of their inventory is marked as sold out though.

Vittoria 1976 for that perforated leather, retro lace-up look with a modern cleat interface. But there's a reason why leather is less often used these days for cycling shoes, and not just cost- I remember BITD how they used to stretch out of shape especially when wet.

Edit: never mind, they're made of "lorica". Sounds like epic material, sort of like l'eroica sounds like an epic ride, but not really the same as the original. Still, they look like nice shoes- and I'd actually probably prefer the synthetic upper to leather for long term fit and longevity, but not the OP's quest. Sorry- carry on!

Data point....I have a pair of Carnac Diagonales that are now 26 years old. They are getting pretty rough, but are usable. They no longer see daily use, but get used for rainy rides etc. The kangaroo leather sections are fine and the real wear is confined to the plastic/padding sections. I don't know of any synthetic shoe upper material that lasts anywhere nearly as long as kangaroo leather. As a pure bonus it will conform to the shape of your foot far better than any synthetic...

Those are microfiber, but I think the Republic LX was leather.

I had a R.E.W Reynolds frame back in the day,

Now, the name is used for "Bench-Made Leather Cycling Shoes, Accessories, and Cycling Apparel". Look pretty nice.

I want cycling shoes for vintage platform pedals!
I don´t like being clipped... my knees are happy on platforms.
Do you guys have any recommendations?

I have been riding on mocassins and very soft soles for a loong time. It looks terrible but the soles grip nicely my suntour pedals.

It looks terrible but the soles grip nicely my suntour pedals. For old school pedals with toe clips I've been happy with Vittoria 1976 and Louis Garneau Nickel shoes; both are SPD versions but I leave the cleat cover on them. I also know people who use indoor soccer shoes.

That´s where i am heading. I left clipless pedals behind and see no reason to come back for them.

If you can find Carnac in your size, buy them. The past 25 years have seen me need only two pair. They are simply great shoes.

I have those (Adidas Adistar). They have magnets in the part of the tongue that folds over the laces. The magnet eventually make a hole in the leather and comes out. I've fixed it with electrical tape for now but eventually need a better solution.

Ive been watching these for at least a year. Best I can tell is this is a handmade product. Not sure why I have not pulled the trigger
