wondering if it has a dumbed-down version of the WCS Zeta wheels or the same.

Irrrrregardless, takes 30mm tires and looks hott.

I guess there is or was a WCS version of this bike, so this one must have lesser parts and be a bit heavier.

I'm really annoyed that they picked the ugly satin grey 105 parts to go with a black cockpit. Seems like a nice deal for an off the rack complete bike, though.

The grey frame (previous version - only 28c clearance) was available as a "WCS" complete with Ultegra and it ran about $1k more.

I think its a decent deal for that money but agree that black parts would look better on it. Also, if I was to shot at that price point I would go used, much more bang for the buck but for new, its a cool bike for sure

Srsly.

Satin grey is neither retro nor modern - just ugly.

That said:

Road Logic Frameset - $875
105 Black Group - $350
Ritchey WCS Bar/Stem/Post - $150
Saddle - $50
Fulcrum Racing 4 - $250
Tape, Tires, Tubes - $75
----------------------------

$1750 ---- if you do a build yourself...a pretty dang nice one-bike-for-everything type roadie for the new initiate.

silver parts blend well with light blue paint, black parts go fine with rims and tires.

I would buy it in a heartbeat.
It has everything i like except the chainstays are a bit too long at 415mm while the BB drop does not follow. I imagine the bike is slightly slower handling but i may be entirely wrong.

Looks to me perfect for it's intended use. Great (safe) handling going down a hill, and chain stays long enough for stable straight line riding.

I really wish they would do a bike with all of their best parts.

I'm not sure where people are getting the "slower handling" idea for Ritchey frames. Typically, Ritchey frames have a little quicker handling than most production frames, due to their shorter trail. For example, the 53cm and & 55cm Road Logic have about 53.4mm of trail, whereas most bike this size have closer to 60mm of trail.

I've got a few road bikes, and one the quickest handling among them is my '96 Road logic (which has 51.4mm of trail).

(And contrary to popular opinion, an extra 5mm in the chainstays is going to have very little affect on stability)

That's an awesome deal. Prices on this frame have gone down since I built mine 2-3 years ago. Now they offer complete bikes too. Not sure if Ultegra is that much better than 105, but that's what I have. I figure it cost me around $2300 to build mine and I already had the wheels.

Sweet bike, and in no way looks slow handling to me..

This price puts it in line with the metal bike + 105 offerings from most of the major players (CAAD12, Allez, Emonda ALR, etc). I think I'd choose the Ritchey there, though no matter your choice you are getting a lot of bike.

I am getting it from the slightly longer chainstays and 72mm BB. I may be wrong.
I agree that straight line stability has nothing to do short or long chainstays.

I mean, that version of the frame was discontinued last year. I'm surprised there are even any left.

$875 for the Ritchey Road Logic?- that's ridiculously cheap for such a quality, reputable frame from a reputable manufacturer. The recent MSRP for that frame was $1079, I believe.

The Shimano 105 package is a great bargain as well.

Buy it complete or build up a frame; you can't go wrong.

As to the bike's handling; it's a ROAD frame with a RACING pedigree. It'll do fine in crits, road races, AND all day rambles.

Nicely done.

This is a bike meant to be stocked and sold off the floor at a bike shop.

In the right shop, I could sell these all day long.
