I store my bike upside down on hooks in the rafters. I noticed that when I bring it down, I have most of the load on the piece of plastic on the back of an SMP dynamic saddle. Any chance this is going to spontaneously snap on me?
If it makes a difference the bike weighs about 22 pounds.

It is probably not the strongest thing in the world. Is there some reason you have to grab the bike by that particular bit if it is hanging upside by the wheels?

I think you need to switch to a Rolls saddle. They're stronger.

Contact the US distributor, they have always responded quickly to my queries. Their triathlon saddles have that part extended so you can hang it on the rack during the swim. Most likely it is beefed up for that purpose as opposed to the standard line.

I think it has to do with my limited space for getting it flipped back over in a small amount of space. i rotate it in a circular fashion versus away from my body. the left hand lowers the front while supporting most of the weight by that plastic piece. The front wheel gets grounded then i lower it the rest of the way.
The bike is too high for me to start the lift by anything but the saddle....

Can't you just grab somewhere else on the saddle?

I store mine by the wheels also. Those in the middle I let pivot down on one wheel, then grab the down tube and seat tube. Back out holding it vertical till I get to an open spot and then swing it down.
