just saw the highlights of stage 10 of the giro. They flashed the GC leaderboard and didn't see Chavez's name up there in the top 3. i figure hmm... this must be a mistake (of course it isn't but i was being optimistic that it was).

-i take a look at the giro's website and see he's now down about 25 minutes?!?!?! what happened? does anyone know? I'm too cheap to pay for foobu or whatever the site is called so i can only rely on the youtube highlights which had no mention of Chavez's meltdown, or perhaps he played the role of a domestique today? I DONT KNOW

Complete crisis and collapse. 25 minutes back now. All in for Yates if he can recover.

Allergies, apparently.

Allergies, apparently.

That makes sense. Kelly was saying that the pollen/air was really bad the last few days. Too bad for Chaves; he sounded really down and disappointed.

Today is going to be a bit sad in that the second sprint points will occur at Filottrano, Michele Scarponi's hometown.

Fantastic. Yates is something else; Dumoulin clawed with all he had...not enough.

TD was too far back when the attack came, he was at the wrong wheel, wheel that makes sense to pick tho.

As for the allergies, well... if they dont want to pull a Froome and kidney failure controversy, probably chavito is not taking anything for it, or just 1 puff a day and not 20 like the one that continues losing time used to do.

Well speaking of "over-puffing" the current maglia rosa was popped a few years back until a forgotten TUE filing came to his rescue and quelle surprise, it was for an inhaler.

As for TD, I think he is just waiting and will crush Yates in the two remaining TT's. If history is an guide, Yates will give up around 2min to TD in a 34k TT....and he has two of them left before the finale.

I think there is only one remaining TT. Am I missing something?

Nope, my goof....for some reason I thought the final stage was a TT, not a crit.

That point aside, I did not realize Yates' history with TUEs. That is somewhat disappointing if he is still riding with one, given the ire that Froome has drawn.

Yates is riding well, but Dumoulin looks very strong and I don't think Yates has enough time on him yet....
