Opinions on Selle Italia nubuck or other brown goodness

Am contemplating a build with a ti frame and brown saddle and tape. What do you guys think of the Selle Italia SLR in brown nubuck? What tape matches well? Any other recommendations for brown saddles that are not Brooks or Brooks-like? (I have a few Swallows but considering other options for this build). My inspiration is the Ericksen all road in the Gallery. Thoughts on the Supacaz brown tape?

I really like the supacuz tape and will also say that berthoud makes the nicest leather saddle I’ve ridden to date. Both are worth a look.

I have no experience with Supacaz tape.

The Nubuck saddles I have seen have all looked pretty bad after some wear.

I can't find the Eriksen mentioned, but I always found the brown/brown on tuscanyswe's Merlin (https://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=185969) very elegant.

Flite Nubuck looks pretty good, as does the Turbo in nubuck. Have some experience with the Turbo in red micro, which wears well against your butt but abrades easily (don't lean your bike saddle against anything like a brick wall).

Really like the Concor Supercorsa in brown, it's leather and starts out rough but smooths out quickly with use, lasts, well, forever. Paired with SI or SSM leather bar tape...yum

HandleBra leather bar tape (http://store.handlebra.com/) comes in a couple of brown colors. Good stuff.

Fizik made the Aliante in brown... still a few around.

And that's Brooks bar tape. A bit slippery with winter gloves in the cold, but fantastic in the sweaty summer months.

I can do your SLR in Auburn leather and have 1 set of matching bar tape to go with it.

I have the Selle Italia SLR in brown nubuck and it gradually gets darker with usage (and the occasional wet rides). It's held up pretty well but I've also treated it with Brooks Proofide a couple of times.

I originally used Selle Italia's matching classica smootape, but it didn't hold up as well. I replaced it with Supacaz which I've found to be surprisingly durable (despite widespread feedback to the contrary).
