I'm looking for a carbon fork with a straight 1 1/8" steerer. Straight blades, and QR. Like an Enve. However, neither Enve or Whiskey makes this anymore. Any other suggestions?

I used one for years and liked it. You still see them NOS on ebay from time to time.

Uh...what? Shows as in-stock at many fine online retailers from Enve.

Take is important. What rake do you need: 40, 43, 45, 50?

If you don't mind used, I'd get an alpha q

Stock fork on my bike is 365mm A/C, and 45mm rake. Another important spec I left out: Needs to clear at least 28mm. Enve says 25mm max.

I'll check out the others mentioned. Thanks.

If you don't mind used there are probably a dozen Enves available from other members here (including me), as well as new ones online.

Or did you mean the blades aren't straight enough?

Spent a whole winter on 28s fitting in an ENVE 2.0. Worked fine.

Unless the spec has changed, Enve is being very conservative about this. I’ve got 30mm of tire under mine.

An Enve will usually take a 28/30mm tire, Falz (v2) will go even bigger.

Thanks for the info on the Enve's. That's good to know. I will start looking for one. I would be open to a nice used unit (45mm rake), if anyone has one. Thanks.

+1 for the Enve 2.0 taking more than a 25mm tire. I have been able to use Schwalbe One 28mm (which runs large) on a standard rim but once I put it on a wide rim the tire puffed out significantly and it no longer fit in the fork.

I would just note that the limiting factor is often the brake caliper. In general, Campagnolo skeleton calipers have less clearance than, say, Shimano calipers. I posted the differences is some thread a while back—I’ll see if I can find it later.

I found an Enve fork locally but the guy doesn’t know what the rake is. Any idea how I’d be able to tell?

I think it’s printed on the steerer next to the serial number. I think.

As mentioned above, and it's a little square decal, usually hard to read. Look for a series of letters and numbers with 41, 43, 45 or 50 towards the middle.

Enve experts: This is supposedly a 1.0 for sale locally. The guy can't seem to find the serial number/rake info. I just want to make sure this is a legit Enve fork. Shape of it seems to be different than what I've been able to see.

Looking straight on, all the other ones I've seen do not flare out like this one does. Anybody care to comment before I drive 40 min to look at this?

It looks more like this fork on ebay:

The decals look legit—the fork, not so much.

Definitely not an ENVE. The blades shouldn't flare like that.

The Columbus Futura Caliper SL sounds like it would work:

Check out the ebay link above. Which is a fake Easton, here being sold as a fake Enve.

I'll check that out as well. Although prices seem to be around $300, which is pretty close to what I could get the Enve for. Which I'd rather do for the mere fact the resale should be better.

Thanks. I ended up ordering a new Enve. 15% off. $328 shipped. No second guessing about authenticity, hairline cracks, warranty, etc.

an aside, enve is really quite good about their warranty. I had an issue with a chip in the dropouts on a 2.0 fork, didn't appear that it would effect anything but Enve, after a few pictures, replaced it free of cost. Great service.

You really pay a premium right now to get straight legs.
