Had a 27.2 VO (sold on the forum); of course now a new project "needs" one.

I see brands like Kalloy, Sunlight, Origin8. Are any of these worth buying?

Open to suggestions for other decent bargain brands around $50 or less...

I can use 250mm--old guy 'fistfull of seatpost setup', no setback.

I have a campy c-record era athena seatpost in the classified which may suit you. PM me on pricing. Otherwise I have been really happy with the Ritchey post I bought and its not crazy expensive.

SOMA makes a really nice seatpost, both in a setback and 0 setback version. inexpensive.

Thanks, I'll keep the Athena in mind if I get back to my Masi restoration but that's a ways off...

Great minds or what?

Thanks all--I'll look at Ritchey as well...

Kalloy SP-267 is a no-brainer at the price. Graphics come off easily after a little rubbing with a damp sugarcube. Maybe a Control Tech Team Issue 1A otherwise?

Ebay is your friend in this case, hundreds of choices, I'd look for a Ritchey Classic in one bolt or my favorite 2 bolt- pretty, light, easy to adjust, stay in place and durable (I have them on 4 bikes, my favorite post). The versions with etched logos look pretty nice, the black logos can be removed with acetone. The etched logo version is a little harder to find but available directly from Ritchey Logic for a little more than the OP budget- $60- but look around for cheaper.

Or-- a used Selcof aero seatpost, looks like campy without the logo (did maybe Selcof make these for Campagnolo? I have no idea, but they sure look identical to me!) A fistful of seatpost means the scratches from insertion are mostly hidden, so a little steel wool, maybe some oven cleaner if the anodizing is to be removed and alu polish can really make for a pretty component.

Or-- an old American Classic, I have one that I've had on the table at a couple of swap events with no takers, I guess they're kind of polarizing you love them or hate them- 90s CNC look to them. Super light, pretty on the right bike, and I think they're brilliantly designed, just don't get all gorilla-fisted with the adjustment bolts which is what people complained about in the days before everyone needed torque wrenches.

Deda makes a nice one for $30, looks good in person but kinda heavy.
