Not trying to revive the gun debate.

This is specifically pertaining to consumer action and its effectiveness. There were a lot of naysayers in the previous threads regarding this.

The firearms industry has seen a drastic drop in sales since Obama left office so it's just a smart business decision to sell off those holdings. If the boycott was actually effective they would not be keeping their ammunition companies.

Wow. It says they were planning to sell anyway. I wonder how true that is, and really how big of an impact was made by the populous uproar. REI is a pretty big account I am sure, but I'd assume the gen-pop would still purchase their products.

I'm glad of that, I like Giro, but couldn't see continuing to buy from them before this.

The firearms business has been horrible, and no doubt will continue to be horrible for a while. The people that buy firearms have bought all they need and a few more. They have N+1 really bad, but I just don't see it continuing.

They are not doing badly by any interpretation. Have a look at the NICS numbers. Looks to me like it's business as usual, maybe better.

Vista didn't own those brands for very long, it seems like a pump and dump type scheme.
