The bianchi is gone. Stolen. Vanished. Poof!

I'm afraid it's Rest In Peace, likely fallen to the allen keys of the chop shop.
Served me well for years, and many, many carefree miles. Dang!

Plan B: get some fenders on the new ride!

Being commuterless for 4 days has really opened my eyes!
Try being comfortable leaving a DeRosa king downtown while u r
grocery shopping, when it looks like rain, and you have no u lock,
'cause some slag took yours!

So I raided the parents garage tonight... this baby hasn't seen air in
the tires since the '80s! No many braze-ons to miss that drivetrain,
so a single speed freewheel was all i had to buy today. I'll see if
it rides well enough to lose the boat anchor crank and maybe put some
real brake levers on there. At least it has fender clearance!

The REAL "Queen" is sitting right here behind me, leaning against the bookcase. In a few minutes she will be laying on the tarp next to me on the bed--after I throw the three deadbolts on the bedroom door. Taken by THIEVES?!?! No way!

Whaddya think I'm NUTS or somethin'?

On a tarp, and not on silk (or at this time of year flannel) sheets?

Or is the tarp used because of some kinky baby-oil action going on?

Just wondering...

What about candles? My bike gets candlelight.

From what I hear, tarp is just a term Dave uses for the custom cashmere blanket he wraps around the queen before putting her in the bed.

I suppose you haven't been watching the "perfect college bike" thread...unlocked commuters are similar. The Bianchi looked too nice...leave the boat anchor crank on this beauty!

If only you could own a handgun in Canada.

Grant,

I noticed in the bianchi pics that you were using the lock as a kickstand. If I may suggest, without sounding like a know-it-all, that in the future, use the lock to lock your bike. I understand that you might not want ot lean your bike against a parking meter,if your not careful you might scratch the paint. I also understand your thinking that if a theif sees a lock near the bike (even if it is being used as a kickstand) he might avoid trying to steal it.

Good luck with the new ride.

As you know, if you need any more technical advice, I'm only a phone call away.

A bicycle? Candles? A tarp? Baby oil?

What has this forum turned into?!?!?!

I'm beginning to think Grant's bike is a run-away.

I'm beginning to think Grant's bike is a run-away.

Maybe it got a better offer?!?

Maybe the others are faking too? (no, never!)
