aww....how old is she?

Spent many evenings pushing this one around in the stroller trying to get her to sleep. She loved seeing the moon and would point up and say ‘Mooooon”.

Fast forward to 3 years old and we’re out front looking at her Mooooon through one of my scopes and I asked her if she’d like to see another moon? She replied that there was only 1 moon silly.

I then went on to attempt explaining that there were many moons other than ours and proceeded to point the scope at Jupiter with multiple moons visible on either side.

I told her that like the Earth, Jupiter is one of many planets and has it’s own moons. Before looking through the scope she said “That little thing up there is a planet like Earth?” She then looked down at the ground (Earth), up at our moon, and then through the scope. After a moment she said “Wow, Jupiter must be really far away!”

That absolutely blew me away!! Can’t wait to show her Saturn next time she visits. That’s the one kids really like to see.

And like the Old Spud…feel free to call me a proud Papa!
