24h Dura ace Hubs or Record Build ?
I have build successfully 28h Dura ace Hubs or Record Builds Mavic rims DT spokes a number of times Plus 32h and 36 holes new hubs over the past 45 years
The ? is can I build 24h hubs? I see them listed on eBay at times and pass them by. But should I try a set to build up I am 150 pound 5'-8''
and just a causal rider
Went up Mt Diablo today has an example of rides I do at 81

I just hope I can do something like that in 5 years when I'm 81. I say yes to the wheel question....but don't see any point in going less than 28.

Sure, but remember that hubs are just part of the system. Make sure they are laced to proper rims with proper spokes for your application, and built well.

Don’t use rims that are too light and 24h is no problem..lace them 2 cross.

HED Belgium + rims, Boyd's offerings, if you want to go retro: CXP30 all will work.

If you want something light and deep: Gigantex from BHS

Good luck

I ride 24h hubs on the front laced to H Plus Son Archetypes... and I weigh 210-220 lbs. No issues when you use a fairly stiff rim.
