Serial # AS 25L 260. I know the AS is Atlanta, not sure about the rest of the #'s.
Trying to figure the size I assume it might be a 60. The seller has no clue on measuring the frame.
Thanks

I'll bet the number is 55L not 25L. That would be a stock 55 long which, I think, would mean it's a 55 cm square measured C-C. It was the 260th Atlanta built.

As Ken said, the size is stamped just after the model code. 1996 sizes were: 48, 52, 54L, 56L, 58L, 60L, and 62L. In 1998, sizes were the same but the L had been dropped, at least from the sizing chart. I suppose it's possible that frames could have been stamped with L after it was dropped from the chart. In 1999 sizes increased to include 46P and every cm from 48 to 62. 1999 chart below.

Seller is saying it has a 57.5 tt and a 58.5 st, head tube looks rather long. This is where it gets weird I asked if measurements were right he said yup.

My stock CSi was a 58 and it had a 57.5 TT so the serial # may just be too messed up to read. Has the bike been repainted?

With a serial number that low it's surely from 1996 or 1997. Does it have the (1997) 25th anniversary decal? My Atlanta is AS 58L 280 and does not have the 25th decal so I've always assumed it's a 1996.

I'm betting it's 58 square. It's easy to be off .5 cm when measuring.

58L head tube measures 168 mm. That's the easiest tube to measure accurately.

I think original paint although not sure. It is a red frame with a red steel fork (never seen one of those). Decals are there except tube material and the made in the USA, no anniversary decals.

I asked about a repaint because that might have left enough extra paint in the serial number stamping to make it difficult to read. In any event, there is no hint of a "C" which would indicate custom and I think we are all in agreement that it's unlikely to be a 25cm frame.

1996 Atlantas came with either the flat crown steel fork or a Kinesis AL fork. By 2000 (the last year for Atlanta) there was a choice of five. Six road forks were offered that year: steel, F1, Wound Up, Reynolds, Icon, and Kinesis carbon. My guess is that one of them was only available with 1 1/8" steerer, so wasn't an option for the Atlanta. Not sure which one it was, but I suspect the Icon.

Seller measured the head tube at 170.

Pretty sure a 60 would be about 5 mm more than a 58. Still think it's a 58.
