Hey forum

So I'm doing Rasputitsa in Vermont next weekend. I have an S&S coupled cross bike, but it's going to be a bit of a frantic fly in - race - fly out affair, so I'm scoping out lower effort options. I'm a common size (56-57) and my fit is pretty easy to replicate, so I was thinking I might just rent.

Anyone have good experiences with a shop (in the entire corridor from Boston Logan to E Burke, Vermont)?

I have no idea whether they rent, but the boys at West Hill shop in Putney are top-shelf.

You might also try Belmont Wheelworks in Belmont, or Landry's Bicycles in Boston, Newton, Natick...

Whoah

I don’t need (literally just bought a cx bike) but that price is pretty great.

Maybe someone here wants that bike and needs a facilitator (after I test ride of course...)

You know...I once asked myself "why on earth would I need two cyclocross bikes?"

Now I have four, and that's not counting the one I'm (still) building up for my son!

:)

None of them is your size...sorry!

Have you checked to see if East Burke Sports has anything? It would certainly be the most convenient option. Wouldn't be surprised if they only have mountain bikes for rent, though.

Good luck!

Don't know if they are out of the way but Urban Aventours by Union Oyster House and Cambridge bikes off Mass ave were two I really liked.

East Burke only has mtb, Colonial bike shop in Portsmouth NH rents cx bikes, Trek Crocketts I believe.

i don't see how flying with your s&s cross bike is more effort than renting a bike.

You’re flying across the country just to do rasputitsa?
