I use two sided velcro through the vents for my rear mounted red blinky on my helmet. Now I am ready for something small and bright facing forward. Prefer something that can be mounted via velcro through the vents on the front of the helmet vs sticking up on top.

This is for daytime safety not for nighttime seeing the road.

I use a small, relatively cheap Black Diamond headlamp. I cut the strap and replace it with velcro. Works a treat.

Knog might be worth a look.

I have a Light & Motion Vis 360. I mostly use it for additional light at night, but it has a day time blinking mode also. It's a very nice product.

How small are you talking? How bright?

If you want a bright headlamp that is small and don't mond putting a battery in your pocket, NightRider makes a helmet mount for their single LED lights.

1100 lumen light (but you can choose a smaller, lighter lamp):

Cateye just introduced a helmet light that includes a headlight and tail lamp in one unit.

I've mounted the old Flea 2.0 blinky on the top of my helmet for a forward facing white light. it's pretty compact...

Just a note cause I was researching helmets lately... I continually came across the various helmet manufacturers/safety groups, etc.. mentioning that lights and cameras attached to your helmet have a serious negative effect on your safety in a crash. The mounts for the cameras/lights need to start to be redesigned to break away in a crash.

Apparently anything mounted on your helmet has the opposite effect of what technologies like MIPS are designed to counteract.. whether MIPS works or not having a camera on your head causes a much greater twisting/torsion effect on your brain/neck when you crash and hit your head.

I don't really like to mount my lights on my head anyway but if I was buying new stuff I'd be looking for breakaway mounts if I was going for helmet mounting.

I have one of those as well.

I dont think I'll be using it any longer, happy to sell it off.
