View Full Version : Anyone missing a Seven Axiom?

I just bought an Axiom from a shady character for $115 in my neighborhood just because i knew it had to have been stolen. The setup is ridiculous. I cant wait to post pics once I can find someone who can describe the frame.

Im sure its someone local to Boston but I figured id post on here in case they they dont see my craigslist ad. I'll probably contact Seven as well.

Welp that was quick. Called Seven and they were able to find the owner by the serial number. Already spoked with the original owner and I am meeting him friday. This guy butchered this bike...

Gripshifters ftw!

Hope you get at least $115 back.

My eyes hurt from looking at that thing.

I feel like I saw that bike years ago outside of Belmont Wheelworks

A distinctive size for sure

The aesthetic criticisms here are ridiculous. I realize that they are "semi-ha-ha", but who really cares, especially in this particular story? I'm sure that some people here would have just said, "Cool! Only $115! Man, am I ever going to flip this baby on Paceline Forum!"

Instead, the owner will be reunited with his bicycle, through fantastic thought and follow-through by the OP who acted so quickly and responsibly. Bravo, bravissimo, fmradio516.

Great work! :hello:

You'd think that a bike as big as that would not attract a thief.

WHOA

I know this bike. I cant recall who the owner is anymore ... but when i was at RSC in lexington, he came through looking to replacing it ... that long A headtube and bright red color way give no doubts.

good on ya!

I'm not sure flipping that is realistic. Can't be many people that are going to fit that thing. That said - thanks for being a good citizen of the bike community and burning calories (and potentially some of your own cash) to reunite someone with their bike. Particularly somebody that that clearly needs custom geometry to get them out enjoying the sport. I don't think the owner will be rolling on a stock option any time soon if that is representative of their fit needs.

Good on you. Ideally, the thief would not have been rewarded for his efforts, but I get it, circumstances. I once tried to arrange a sting with the local police after setting up a meeting to buy an obviously stolen bike, but they weren't very interested and basically told me to stay away for my own safety. Hope you don't eat any $$ on it.

Thanks all. The owner is very happy and is completely fine with giving me back my $115. The bike was apparently stolen 4 years ago. I offered the phone number of the guy i bought the bike from, but I dont think he's going to get cops involved. Funny thing is, when I moved to Boston 11 years ago, I bought my girlfriend at the time a bike from the same guy for like $30. It was chained to the same telephone pole and there have been bikes circulating there constantly. They've always been crap walmart bikes and old 5/6 speeds. Nothing worth anything really until now.

Makes me wonder if he's the guy who stole my Gitane track bike from my house two blocks from there. :bike:

I think these comments about the proportions of that bike are probably really dumb.

Take off the DUI cyclist mods that the thief did and I bet it starts to look pretty normal, just going to be it's "normal" for someone who is at least 6'6". The original owner is probably going to take the flat bars and riser stem off and put a normal stem and drop bars back on it and then raise the seat up 6".

The typical frame aesthetics don't really work for super tall people... legs and arms get longer and out of ratio with torsos AFAICT.

OP you earned some serious Karma points here...

And here I thought it was one of the best looking Seven's I have ever seen, but I guess I am use to seeing them big.
