Just read about a big fire at Shimano...

Shimano Inc. informs with deep apology that a fire accident occurred at a part of our headquarters factory located in Sakai, Japan at around 13:40 (JST) on March 26th.

We profusely apologize to our shareholders, customers and stakeholders for all the concerns and the inconveniences that we have caused by letting this regretful accident occur.

The fire occurred at the surface treatment area.

Workers have evacuated a factory immediately and no one was injured.

We are now investigating the cause of the fire.

From now on, we are determined to make every effort for safe operation and work for the prevention of this kind of accident.

Once again we would offer our deepest apologies for any inconvenience caused.

We ask your kind understanding and continued support.

I sure hope a non-native English speaker wrote that, because otherwise, the obvious question that arises is why they waited until after the fire to do this.

leave it up to the Japanese to apologize profusely for an accident. without knowing what caused the fire, one would hope that their intent to improve their operations from what they learned from what may have caused the accident would not lead to why it took a fire to result in changes unless there is a obvious safety issue.

(able to fire the first shot since there were no injuries reported)Big delays on any HYDRO related product coming... Shop reporting 100+ days on Trek Project 1 with hydro yesterday, where prior day was like 20ish...
