I need to buy a seat post for a new bike with a Di2. Looking at an Eriksen sweet post . I know at one time they offered Di2 specific version. I assume it has a groove / slot for a snap ring to hold the battery. Any advantage to this over the many Di2 battery adapters for use in any seat post?

Ritchey makes a great plug, just pick a size and use whatever post you want. Di2 specific post is a little too much engineering for a simple task

The Eriksen is cool- It has a plastic plug that the battery snaps into- Then a set screw to secure the plug into the seatpost.
The Ritchey adaptor also works great though.

deda also makes a simple rubber insert thing that works with any post. plenty of options out there, you dont need a "di2 seatpost" for the battery.

yeah a snap ring sounds like a pain in the butt compared with the interference fit rubber boot type.

Honestly I've used a couple of inches of bar tape a few times, never had an issue with loosening or anything.
That said, the Ritchey one is fantastic...

Thanks guys. The Ritchey adapter is what I was looking at, and is available for about $10. If I recall correctly the upcharge from Eriksen was something like $40-$50. It has been a few years since I saw it and I don't see it listed on their site.

This ControlTech one is also pretty good.
