Don Lamson Leaves D2 Shoe to Start New Premium Cycling Footwear Company.

Santa Paula, California – March 19, 2018. D2Shoe founder and renown cycling shoe designer Don Lamson has left D2Shoe to start a new premium cycling shoe company. Don has been designing and building custom cycling shoes for more than 35 years. His premium cycling shoes have been worn by professional cyclists, olympians and national champions. After being unable to reach agreement with his business partner about the direction D2Shoe would take going forward, Don sold his interest in the company to his partner, who will attempt to operate D2 without Don. Don will continue to build premium custom cycling shoes and his new company, Lamson Cycling Shoes, will become operational over the upcoming months. The website for Lamson Cycling Shoes is at https://donlamson.com, and will be updated regularly with information about the new company and its new cycling footwear designs. Don can be contacted through the website with any questions.

Happy and Sad.

I have thousands and thousands of miles in Don's shoes.

I still use the very first pair from this review in 2006...

It’s been a few years now. Sometimes things don’t work out.

Hi

Thanks for posting this. I put a deposit down for a pair on Jan 31 2018. Was looking forward to these shoes, we were planning on doing a road shoe with a Vibram MTB sole. Anyway, just coming up on 7 weeks, sent an email to Don the other day and haven't heard back. Curious to see how this plays out...do I get my deposit back? If you have anymore information, please let me know.

This was going to be my second pair, nothing but great things to say about the first pair and the experience of working with Don was top notch!

Thanks

Still curious to hear if people are happy with the guy currently running D2 with respect to quality control, customer service/responsiveness. Don't know the Riivo guy and Don has no access to my/any previous D2 customer information. I need new shoes and some repairs done and it would be really nice to not have to go through the whole process again with Riivo or Lamson shoes.

Could Luck/Riivo/Lamson/? nail it on the first try? That was definitely not my experience with D2 but comfort-wise, I'm not sure I can go back to store bought.

These are my concerns too. I bought a few pairs from Don and it took two attempts to nail things down to where my feet were happy. I am wearing a pair of Powerwires that are now six years old and I have a pair of 2D shoes that I got from Don two years back that I have yet to wear.

I am going to get every single ounce of use out of what I have since the process to start again and nail it is so intimidating.

The Riivo shoes do look attractive though. If I was confident that they could get it in one shot, Riivo would have my cash in a minute.
