I am unclear why you used that as a comparison, those things are hideous looking.

There is not much else out there that have side pockets that allow to really carry something other than a credit card and key. The solid black ones are fine, though I don't much care for the colored version but if you had a jersey to match I doubt folks would really notice, other than a bunch of bananas sticking out. ;) I gave up spandex years ago for mountain shorts with inserts. I have to have pockets, the more the better.

where would anyone wear those - to the gym in 1984?

in a post last week someone showed us new Rapha shorts that have the same feature.

Aerotech makes great shorts and I think an extra pocket could come in handy. Black is best for me.

I'm not so opposed to side pockets, but these are too high up to be useful.

Think of the mass you're adding to your legs. It's like rotational mass, but worse. Calculated as [mass *.38^(center of mass of item/femur length)] throw in a tau symbol and the wind resistance of the surface area of a banana. :help:

The Rapha shorts appear to be a little better executed, the coarse mesh on the shorts you referenced is not as subtle as the Rapha shorts

The Aerotech design is way more epic than the Rapha. You couldn't do this with the Rapha shorts... and they are only half full. ;)
