The rear triangle of a Zullo Inqubo. It seems like the rear would be very stiff with the size of these but I guess if it is built rite???

Looks like painted Ti?
If so...not so extreme. Race bike spec.

Cool stuff indeed.

“What would you do, if you weren’t building bikes?”

“Well, I can’t imagine my life without this work. I only can say that in these times I’d love to be a framebuilder in Portland. Years ago I was exhibiting there at NAHBS and I enjoyed the scene there so much.”

Wonder if I could work some sort or homestay trade for a frameset ;)

Not Ti,SS dropouts. I was watching this on the bay. I was so close on pulling the trigger on this one. How many projects do I need tho??

I think the Inqubo originated as a track frame; I would expect the road version to be in the stiff-frame category as well.

My roadie uses 1" chainstays, with 1/2" seatstays. Rides very nicely. Looks like a nice build to me.

If it fits the OP's geo, needs, budget, and color preference, I would agree 100%. It is really a beautiful, mint example, and these are not common (understatement).

The tubes on those frames are highly manipulated, and apparently not much fun to work with. "Inqubo" comes from the Italian "incubo" (means nightmare), because (the story goes) one day Zullo was building one and said, "questo é un incubo!" ("this is a nightmare!").

I'm not certain re: the seller's claim that Zullo mentored Pegoretti (as if Zullo needs additional validation), but who cares...in any case it is a really nice frameset.

The scene in Portland was different then. I wonder if he'd still like it here.

He's from Stallavena/Verona/Castelnuovo del Garda, Italia. There is no way that a sane person trades that for Portland. No.

When he said that, he was probably more (USA) market-positioning the brand. ;)

If it was made for the NAHBS portland it is a 10 year old frameset. Seems like it is in great shape for a 10 year old frame.
Besides I got the Sarto Classica from cadence90 that is next in line to get built up.

Indeed; it looks mint.

From me? Really? Are you sure?

Wow, how I wish...I have never owned a Sarto in my life. But, if I do have one, I WILL trade you my mint Sarto Classico for a Colnago Master X-Light in Zabel Blue.... :D.:D.:D.

The Inqubo is a beefy frameset. Here's my fixed gear version.

Tiziano knows a thing or two about building frames. Someone ought to grab that roadie.

I've never seen one of those before, beautiful workmanship and unique design. Looks brutally stiff.
