Egremont/Alford, MA.

So there have been a number of these threads and I thought it might be my turn, since I have often thought I live in one of the very best places in America for medium-length (30-50 miles) rides. I happened to have my camera with me this last Saturday as I and Mrs. tch took a leisurely 35-miler on one of the last warm fall days. Hope these photos convey at least a little sense of the bucolic beauty in my area. On top of the scenery and terrain, a significant attraction around here is the lack of cars: in the two hours we were on the road, I think we were passed by fewer than 35 cars -- most of them on two 5-mile stretches of "busy" road. Sorry if there are too many of them or if the quality is not perfect -- I took most of them from the saddle as I coasted.

Wow, BashBish Falls is a long way from Corvallis. Nice pic.
Area of these pics is just north and ever-so-slightly east of BB. Some of my more energetic friends ride up Mt. Washington Road (the Massachusetts Mt. Washington, not the NH one) and then down to BB -- or reverse for a REAL workout.
I'm into cherry-picking the terrain; no real climbs like that for me as a regular thing...

Some very nice shots.
I bet it was awfully purty this weekend.
Our local club here in albany has a ride at/to Bish Bash every year. I've been meaning to make it each year, but it just hasn't worked out. I'll have to re-double my efforts.

Bash Bish happens at about the 200k mark of the local 300k brevet (out of Westfield). It's a steep little hill! At least the super-steep parts aren't very long.

Nice long descent afterwards, though!
