Campy compatibility - 11-32, H0 Medium Cage, 53/39

Current campy is overwhelming me, somewhat. I'm setting up a new bike with mostly new drivetrains, but I'm keeping my old (135bcd) P2M crankset with 53/39 5 bolt rings.

Let me see if I've got this right. All post 2015 11sp Chorus and Record is interchangeable, but I've got to get the medium cage RD if I want to run the 11-32... is anyone running an 11-32 and a standard? Is there any reason that wouldn't work?

I know it's kind of an odd decision, but I'm wondering if anyone has tried it before.

It works and better than with a compact/mid compact, even.

53/39 is less of a drop (14 t) than compact (16 t) so should be less of an issue regarding need for longer cage for chain wrap - I am considering adding 11-32 to chorus short cage but I have 46/28 on front (18 t drop) so would have chain wrap problems
