Here is a picture of Paolo Bettini. The King of Bling!

I feel sorry for the loss of his brother. Really tragic.

You can see the 2007 carbon crank on his machine as well as another shot of the De Rosa ti under VDB.

I don't know about all of you, but i think that his shorts are HIDEOUS!!! Yeah, he's the Olympic Gold medallist, the current World Champion and the Italian national champion, but how far can you go? He's already set up with the Time VRXS WCS edition (wonder if it's a leftover from Boonen's WCS bikes), the white Sidi's with gold trim, the helmet, the jersey, but the shorts?!? I don't think so. Maybe he should look at the new Campagnolo Shamal Ultra's; those should fit into his new gold theme.

Kinda bummed for Quick-Step, though. How can Bettini match this theme on a Tarmac? Oh, well. I talked with our rep from Time, and he was very pissed off about Quick-Step changing bikes.

Hey, it's Italy and everything there is over the top. Remember Mario Cipollini?

"I am not only the fastest cyclist in the world, I am also the best looking." Or something like that.

I think they look like gold Depends worn on the wrong side of his shorts.

Are there any more titles that he can hold concurrently? World champ, Italian Champ and Olympic champ.

Far out.

PS - Notice the wheels. Fulcrum "Neutrons".

. . . looks pretty hastily cobbled together. If he had the fashion sense or Cipo (or me! ;) ) the whole thing--outfit, helmet, bike, shoes--would be matched perfectly--ALL gold!

Actually, they're Fulcrum Racing Light Carbon,
which are Campagnolo Hyperon without the fancy hub...

money, large money.
simple theme in all professional sports.
all you have to do in any sport like baseball is spend the most money and sign the most expensive players.... oh, wrong thread, sorry, should work though.
