Does anyone know of a frame (Aluminum) weld repair shop in Los Angeles? Thanks.

I know you can just weld that thing ok? but there is a problem too... once welded again probably will crack again in a place next to the weld. That's the reason expensive AL frames are heat treated.

I agree with Ultraman. Many years ago I had an aluminum frame welded by a world class welder-years in aerospace that followed his training, by the USN, that culminated in welding on subs.

Anyway, it did indeed break adjacent to the repair. As he told me it would without heat treating.

This is the long story short. I went through this recently myself and spoke with a couple people knowledgeable in welding aluminum. One possibility is to work with a frame maker who has the capability of heat treating and is willing to take on repairs.

wouldnt carlos have to be heat treating the frames hes been building too? im sure he can do it.
