I'm riding a Deda Ultracarbon with a fairly standard 82 degree rise. Well...I think my back needs a bit more rise, but I also don't want to look like a senior citizen with a super extra lift. Anyone tried a Deda Zero100-86? Anything similar that you'd recommend? thanks!

Wait, is't the 86 just a 4 degree rise vs 8 degree with 82 or am I having a moment?

I’ve always preferred the look of road riser bars that give you a drop of extra rise. Have you checked any of those out?

^^ This. Check out the Specialized Hover series of drop bars. It raises the bars 15mm. Reasonably priced too.

Always?! They've only been around for six months.

Road risers look even worse than a riser stem; it's as if they're ashamed of being old and inflexible and are trying to hide it ;-)

Riser stems look fine if you've got a sloping top tube.

You want rise? One of my all-time favorite riser stems as it basically goes straight up with its 0mm stem length!

Bike Radar apparently has a write up here:

The owner of Analog Cycles has a write up too:

The 'hover' riser road drop bar appears to me like it is a fashion statement that actually reduces function. The S-curve section of the bar reduces the real estate available for mounting handlebar accessories, such as computers or lights. It also reduces available hand space: I often descend in a tight tuck with the hands on the bar tops squeezed against either side of the stem. This position would be less comfortable with a riser drop bar.

Stems are available with a variety of angles and can usually be flipped for two different angles, so there should be no problem finding a stem with the desired amount of rise. Just get the right stem to start with, and skip the riser drop bar.

Easton makes the EA90 in zero rise.
I think they look great-

Was about to suggest the same, I briefly had one on a bike but ended up needing a longer and lower option after fit adjustment. Was a nice 90deg stem option in any case.
