Could work - PM me a "repeat buyer" price ;)

Moots still has their forks on sale for it too, so that's cool.

I have a Ti LeMond with a 59cm top tube, Enve fork. Not selling -- just a hearty thumbs-up that it's an awesome, underrated, undervalued frame. Rides beautifully, to my taste.

Not the derail, but that SLR Frameset you have is baller, man. Good, light, relatively stiff high quality Frameset that’s made here in the US. Maybe sleep on it a bit before giving that one up.

I am an alloy guy, but it’s nice to have a good carbon ride or two around. :)

Yeah, not in a hurry here by any means. And the SLR could get stashed instead of sold too..

Inquired about it a while ago and the owner sent me the build specs (who can contact me at daniel p williams 01 at gee male if he stumbles here..):

https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/1ukAAOSwZoZaepRG/s-l1600.jpg

I thought it was too short, but it probably could work given it's a 57.5TT off a 73.5 STA, so I'd run it with a 25mm setback post - not far off my current Hampsten, just 5mm shorter in the front center I think and the same from the BB back. Will mull that one over..

EDIT: sorry for the oversized pic above, but for reference, here's the build sheet for my Hampsten

I can't recall: What is the quick list of ti frames you bought/sold/why? Not joking, just interested.
.

(1) Lynskey R3X0 - 58/L - felt small at the time and didn't seem right for me, was early days in my trials, got a great deal and passed it forward on eBay to a guy who was building his first ti racer and was super stoked to get it

(2a) Merlin Extralight - 62 - felt tall up front and I liked the way the Serotta rode best out of this group, so I let this one go thinking I was going to keep that one. It got sold locally to a good guy who built it, with a bit of my help, for his son as a graduation present.

(2b) Serotta Legend SE - 62 - felt big, honestly I got confused about sizing around this time and wish I still had this one...there's still a chance she'll come back one day...it's with a good PL'er now, as is the next one...

(2c) Holland Ti - 63 - same as above, but a bit moreso on the size as it was 60-ish in the TT, I didn't love the internal brake routing, but I'd overlook that (and it's a signature Holland thing, so..)

(3) Moots CR - 60 - loved the way it rode, but at the time was thinking I needed something racier...would take that one back too if that was an option, though I think I may fit better on the 62 version. It's now with another PL'er, but may not be built yet...can't remember.

(4) Merlin Works 6/4 - 59 - fat chain stays limited wheel clearance and I had a lot of toe overlap on it given it was undersized for me, was one of the fastest bikes I've ridden though, and if I could find a 61, I'd be all over it. The gent who got this from me through eBay was very excited to have it.

(5) Davidson Ti - 58 - excellent bike in every way, just a bit small for me - probably could/should have held onto it longer since it was pretty close even if not just right - I know a lot of people think toe overlap is overblown, but when you have size 15 feet and ride around town in traffic, it generally sucks to rub your shoes when maneuvering at slow speeds - it's now with Christian in Germany, and I think he's quite happy with it

That's all, I also briefly had another Holland Ti that was measured wrong on its eBay listing (now with Yarg) and a Litespeed Ultimate that I bought locally just because it was a great deal with plans to pass it forward (now with John E.), plus there was a Serotta Concours Ti that I did the same (now for sale as a resto-mod by Cool Planet Bikes on eBay).

There's the whole sordid history. If I knew then what I know now, I'd have the Legend SE and/or Holland in my garage and wouldn't be posting this WTB thread - alas, in order to know now what I didn't then, I had to travel this long strange trip.

Does make me think though that maybe I should just bite the bullet and get a Holland made for me. That would require patience and getting rid of some other stuff though. Not a fan of either of those two - so here I am looking to get lucky on a used one.

I wouldn't be interested in the build-kit on there, so I'd have to ask for a F/F/HS price...and even though I'm not a collegiate sports guy like I used to be, I can't roll around on something in Portland that is even close to the Oregon Yucks colors...which I like on their own, and it's a gorgeous bike, but it's like wearing green and yellow in Wisconsin if you're a Bears fan...

Just FYI
The ebay is a 2009 size 59 with a 58cm toptube with a 73 degree sta and 74 degree hta. Headtube is 17.6 cm

Perhaps tad low for you?

2010 there were only size 58 and 60 available and its stamped 59 so cant be anything else than 2009 (coincidentally the same year as my moots compact with the exact same geo if not for the sloping toptube, a great great bike).

I only ask because the price is low enough that it comes close to the price of some used high-end frames.

I've looked at those, but by the time you start adding in options, it gets up there pretty high, or at least close enough to a new Lynskey or Litespeed that I'd probably pick one of those first.

When purchasing things, I tend to look at the bid-ask spread current and expected future to determine what is really at risk.

A used Moots frameset at $2K may still be worth $1500 in five years.

A new Carver frame at $2K is likely to drop to $700-ish in five years (if that).

Cheap options aren't always frugal...

Yes its the remake modell from 2012-2015? or similar. Made by form cycles for merlin well for competetivecyclist i think was the ones who owned the brand (not sure about that tho).

Yep ht is a 44mm tube.

Its a pressfit30 bb tho. That may be an issue for you? but 100% creek and troublefree for me.

Thanks Yeah the forma or composite actually is not included if i decide to sell .)

This bike very different from the moots compact for instance. Its quite a bit more stout. I think im a bit to lightweight for this actually but i like it a lot still. Im only 72kgs atm so pretty light for such a big frame with these tube diameters

No idea how I've missed that in my searches, but it's also just a bit too small for me...I need another 1cm in the TT with those angles...and I'd be running it with a 130mm stem even at that, so not really room to compromise.

It’s a bit rich for my blood too. I kind of feel like if I’m spending over $2k on a used frame, I’m getting close enough to the cost of a custom that it’d be worth it to get it done to my exact specs. The exception is maybe a Moots RSL...

Yes, I've talked to the seller. I think it's a 61cm, which would work. But the Ultimate has pretty tight clearances and more of a race geometry with shorter chainstays than what I'm looking for. It is nice it already has a Forma on it
