I'm having a hard time finding affordable (<$500, lower is good) Campy 10s compatible disc CX/gravel wheels. Seems that a lot of the companies don't make campy freehubs for all their models (Velocity) or they don't adequately cross reference the compatibility (Bitex 1110 models). DT hubs would be sweet but I'm still not sure they're worth $265 used (after swapping freehubs and end caps). There seems to be a lot of good prebuilt wheels out there around $250 but none seem to be Campy. Any suggestions?

I have some DT 38mm carbon wheels with a broken spoke/nipple and other nipples that may be corroded. I haven't brought them in to have them checked out, and the nipples are internal so it's not work I can do myself. They are not tubeless compatible even though they claim to be because the rim bed is a smooth U with no bead shelf at all, but they are very light and withstood some pretty rough riding just fine until I started commuting on them during the winter (in Arizona I think you'd be just fine :) ). They can definitely be converted to Campy as they are DT hubs.

ANYWAY that's a long-winded way of saying I could sell you those wheels if you don't mind fixing them up, and the price would certainly be within your desired range. I think you could scrap the spokes and nipples entirely and get them totally rebuilt, and you'd still come out ahead of many much heavier prebuilts.

PM me if interested!

Oh I'm also not sure if they can be converted to 12mm, they are currently 15.

Unless you allrdy have the group perhaps think of doing an 11s campy group and use a shimano cassette and wheels?

Stans wheels perhaps? Dont know if they have campy body for all their wheels but at least for some of the hubs.

Just more proof that you have to be some sort of computer ninja to adequately search ebay. Wish folks would put reasonable keywords in their titles.

I have a pair of Velocity disc CX wheels. I emailed them to ask about a Campy freehub and they were pretty dismissive about everything and pretty much said tough luck.

Ha yeah well i only knew about the compatibility cause i have a set.
So far so good. Light and reliable. But only had them for a couple of months. But they have passed the swedish winter test riding 6 hours a day or so.

Fwiw..

I use Shimano cassettes on my Gravel bike.. so many more options gearing wise.

When my 11-32 wears out, I'm going to try the new ultegra 11-34 cassette. I'm betting it will work find with my medium cage campy derailleur.

Thanks OP. I'll take a pic and get the info to you. I'm pretty sure this hub is one of the big Asian manufacturers, and I'm also convinced they don't reinvent freehubs for every model.

That's pretty much not an opinion with Campy 10.

That's pretty much not an opinion with Campy 10.

A shimano 9s cogset with a shimano 9s chain, works VERY well with Campag 10s shifters and rear der. The ctr to ctr spacing differences between shimano 9s and Campag 10s is really minimal(much less than Campag 10s and shimano 10s)...

I built this more than once for guys who wanted hidden der cables(handlebar bag)...but big, mongo cogset in back..used a Campag long cage rear der...get one less 'click' but....

you could also go with 29er wheelsets if you mostly plan on running cx tires or wider all round tires. Perhaps not the best if you also like to run 25s but will likely work

Something like this? As long as it has the 3 30 hubs it should be convertible to campy. Just confirm with stans so you dont buy anything u cant use on my said so.

Wiggle had Zonda C17 disc wheels cheaper than in US. Strong, reasonably light, and now with a wider rim. Probably good for gravel. I use my Eurus wheels for gravel, and they are fine.

you didn't specify whether qr or thru bolt, but if qr hard to beat these wheels at this price: https://www.probikekit.com/bicycle-wheels/campagnolo-zonda-c17-clincher-wheelset-black/11349819.html

I know folks have issues with probike kit but I've purchased 3 campy wheelsets from them without issue.

I have the Zonda C17 DB with thru axle and regular Zonda C17 for rim brakes. Ride well, serviceable with steel spokes, reasonably light, almost universally praised for strength and durability.

Unless you want to run really wide tires like >35mm my search for wheels under $500 would begin and end here.

Or spend a bit more and consider Boyd Altamont or Altamont light with a 19,86 interior width. Or contact Ergott. He built me a nice set of disc wheels with Bitex hubs and Ryde rims for a bit less than the Altamonts.
