I haven't seen this posted anywhere yet and somehow doubt i am the first to come up with this idea. If this is already common knowledge please forgive me.

I was looking at trainer desks but didn't want to take up space in my already crowded office with a dedicated trainer desk. I came up with this idea which has ended up working out well.

I already had a Feedback Sports repair stand and now use it as the base for my trainer desk. All that i needed was a board, some pipe fittings and a few screws.

This Feedback stand makes it very stable and also easy to adjust the height and table angle. No issues holding the weight of my Macbook and whatever else i throw on it. The same idea worked fine with my 30 year old park stand without the height adjustment and not quite as stable with just two "L" shaped legs.

I'll eventually make a nicer table but this works fine for now.

Genius! I have that stand - and your solution is perfect. My current laptop stand is limited in how close I can get it to my bars and obstructs fan airflow..

Off to Home Depot to make this happen.

Is that Race Deck ?

Yes, the floor is Race Deck. It is my basement office/workshop and the previous flooring was old linoleum squares with some very questionable glue. I didn't want to grind off the glue in fear of what was used in 1950's adhesive. Dropped the Race Deck flooring on top and still have the ability for water to flow into the drain and under the tiles.

The plastic gets beat up a bit from my office chair wheels and some scrapes from heavy stuff being dragged across it. Other than the minor issues it has been great. No need for a floor mat under the trainer when you can wash the floor directly into the drain.

Nice job and brilliant idea!

I could see adding a lip to the bottom edge so things don't slide off the bottom.

The cupholder suggestion by someone else is good, too.

But the basic invention was something I'd never have thought of. Good job.

Adding a lip to the bottom of the desk is the first thing I'd change. Right now I use some anti-slip map originally for tool box drawers which does the trick for now.

Damn good idea btw - using a bike stand is perfect 👌
I’m looking at some racedeck for my basement. I’m on the Garage Journal forum and the owner frequents and gives out discounts- 2.79 a square foot on the coins.

It is cool the owner of Race Deck posts discounts on Garage Journal.

If you are looking for a review, I've had the floor installed for about 8 years now and it still looks good. Since it is plastic it show some wear but if you have water problems in a basement/garage they are a great option. I have spare tiles in case i really mess a few up but so far i haven't had to swap any out.
