Welp, another day, another frameset project...

I have a Serotta HSG IT incoming :)

The frameset includes an Alpha Q fork that I fear will need to be replaced due to carbon loss under the crown (too big a tire used by previous owner).

What would be a suitable substitute for the Alpha Q IF I love the handling of my Gunnar Roadie (same head angle of 73 degrees, 45mm rake Enve fork)?

Thanks for any advice.

Here's a good place to start:

I think the AQ forks had a slightly longer A-C (maybe 5 mm or so?) compared to Enve, so you would technically want a fork with more offset to get the same trail. But in this case, the difference in A-C should impact trail by only ~1mm, so I say stick with a 45mm offset fork. Or find a Reynolds Ouzo fork, which I believe also had a slightly longer A-C.

Thanks for that too. I'll be looking for a used fork of some variety; I really like the Enve on the Gunnars (I have two!) and just need to figure the rake I need, I guess.
