Anyone have experience with this RD? How is it possible that it can work with 10 or 11 speed? Or is it just that the cable pull is being dictated by the shifter and as such it's only making the jump it's supposed to..?

actually, looks like all the 1x rd's are listed as 10 or 11... so yeah, I'm guessing the pull from the shifter is dictating the cog distance..

It'll work with both 10 & 11 speed shifters. I've done it.

All the Exact-Actuation rear derailers are compatible. The rear der. moves in a 1:1 ratio with cable pull, it's only the ratchet in the shifter that determine the distance of travel. As a result 10s and 11s Sram rear ders are all interchangeable and will match whatever the shifters are. I've popped on an old 10s rival rear onto an otherwise red22 setup in a pinch and it works just fine.

this is true. I've used the clutch RD's with both 10 and 11 speed shifters. likewise with the non-clutch variants. FD's will work with either too.

Also keep in mind that 10s MTB derailleurs will work with 10 or 11 speed road shifters. I use an X9 10 speed clutch RD in a 2x setup with road shifters.

11 and 12 speed MTB are not compatible with road, though.

The really nice thing that SRAM did here was to identify, in writing on the cage, derailers that are of this "universal" EXACT ACTUATION specification, which guarantees compatibility between any of these three versions when used with any of these three derailer's specified shifter.

probably one of the big reasons I went with SRAM on the last build.

i really like the 1:1 and the ability to use different shifter/derailleur combos. i initially set up my kelly with apex shifters and an X7 rear derailleur. swapped out the X7 for a Rival 1, still using the apex 10 speeders, then moved to Rival 10 speed shifters. everything worked all the time with no fuss.

i've just recently swapped the Rival shifters out for a Sram 10 speed bar end on a Paul Thumbie.

Cool, so if anyone is holding a Clutch RD that they'd like to unload, hit me up :)
