Any idea how I can bring the shift/brake lever closer on a youth Pinarello? My wife’s hand is really small and she has a hard time reaching the lever when she is on the hood. I don’t see any adjustment. It is an 8speed Shimano that came with the bike. It is an FPZero

I don't know if they're shifter model specific, but there are shims you can insert into shift levers to accommodate smaller hands (they bring the levers closer to the bar). Maybe you can mod some to work with what sound like older shifters?

On my daughter’s bike, we wound up using these, along with some mtb shifters up at the tops. Not ideal, but the ‘compact’ levers do bring the brake lever closer to the bar, and the shape of the lever makes it easier for a small hand to brake from the hoods. I used this link because it shows the ‘compact ‘ and conventional lever next to each other.

That lever doesn't have 'factory' shims but you can cut some rubber to fit and glue to top of lever to move lever closer..but remember, less brake travel to handlebars so need to adjust brakes well. Kinda like these pictured
