I know some of you guys did the Whitmores Cup race. How would you classify that course and rate it compared to others in the northeast? Was it easy/hard, fast/slow. I have never raced cross anywhere else, that is why I ask.

I prepared by riding some of the local singletrack by my home and felt pretty good in the technical spots, and was flyin on the straights. During the race (B Men) I felt like I was dragging a cinder block across those grassy fields.

My bike had some Tufo Elite tubulars 35 psi front and 40 psi back. What psi do those fast guys use on those skinny tubed steel, red bikes?

that was a great course and i'd say it was
a typical great course with all the obstacles
and elements needed for a classic venue.
the weather made it too easy on saturday
and the sunday am weather didn't last long
enough to affect the course on day two atmo.

I went to watch Saturday and had fun. Highlights :

1)Seeing more E-Richie bikes in one day than I had seen in a lifetime
2)Seeing the Pegs
3)trying to figure out which rider was fstrthnu
4) watching the pros go over the obstacles without slowing down
5) seeing someone bunny-hop both obstacles
6) Listening to e-ritchie yelling encouragement "no walking" to a team member not realizing it was the warm-up lap :)
7) seeing e-ritchie holding court like Sinatra to the fans sitting in the back of the truck
8) needed more cowbells

Question re: #5 is this faster - it seemed only slightly faster after the obstacle because of being clipped in already but slower over

It's the hood of the Hamptons, meaning it is next to the Town's old landfill. We were probably racing on top of old diapers. The organizer has been doing cross races for at least 5 years now. The 1st two years were in Sag Harbor and the last 3 have been at the Rec Center (Dump).

Donatella is the Queen of Cha-cha, atmo. She can pick up a cyclist and spin him around like a propeller. And she can get discounted Campy parts too. I think I'm in love.

Donatella Ver-sace is the Queen of trash.

She's not qualified to carry Miuccia Prada's bags.

Prada just sold her to the brits last winter,
should be interesting to see what changes.

I wouldn't normally say Germans do fashion,
but jil rocks.

she made a bad choice 5-6 years ago and
became a brand. like whatever. she's still
the seminal name in high fashion. so what
if her factors screw her. jil still rocks my
inner manilow.

It's a private equity group that owns Jil Sander,
run by the ex m&s chairman. No, it doesn't really matter,
Prada sold it because they were bleeding from it, and
didn't want to do the work to fix it, but it will come back.

ah absorbed into the mainstream and co-opted
for all the vampires to tap. it will come back, but
the real jil sander lives outside these margins atmo.

How did a simple question on whether a cross course was hard or easy end up with discussion of high fashion and stocks? :)

I want what you guys are on. Must be illegal?

In my view the Pegoretti Responsorium effect has bled over to this thread. Not a bad thing.
