Ok I know weird topic but I'm going to start lifting weights again..finally. Used to lift pretty much all through college (70's), etc and always wore jock strap for support. Nowadays, is this still what everyone is using? Hell, do they even make them anymore?

Compression shorts. What most of the young lads seem to favor these days. Under Amour. Nike.

Not an expert here, but are you looking for support like a weight belt? or you just want your pieces to be held securely during the activity?

I don't know where you'd find them, but I had some fairly compressive briefs that were cut very high on the legs. Gave nice freedom of movement & were comfortable for hours.
Jock strap? Haven't worn one of those since I used a cup & that was a hundred years ago.

Never worn one except for hockey w/cup.. I thought the whole point was to protect against projectile injuries.. not exactly a risk at all in weight training.

Can we please get a separate forum section for jock strap-related questions?

I laughed out loud at that, for whatever it's worth.

Great thread!
For context, I'm 70 years old..started wearing a jock for sports in '55 and the last time I wore a jock was 2005..then I bought a pair of Assos bibs...nothing wrong with wearing a jock.

Only wore one w/ cup while playing baseball. One of worst injuries I saw was infielder who had cup pinch "one."

Compression shorts, or briefs, for weightlifting. Heck, boxers would probably work.
