Anyone know a modern 31.8 bar that has the same shape as the Nitto Noodle?
I love The 177 and would like tha same or similar on my modern bike. Thanks.

How is that any more modern?

OP wanted a modern version of the 177. How is this not it? 75mm reach is not modern enough? Sure, the clamp is not what he asked, but also 31.6 is not a stem size.

I’m totally confused, I assumed by modern you meant modern looking and works with modern parts (oversized clamp, bulge instead of shim, less boat anchors, etc)

I guess less reach is more modern but then it’s not the same shape, the increased reach and thus long flat ramps behind the levers is the best part of the noodle.

The (I think now discontinued) PRO Vibe OS Round has some similarities to the Mod.177 "Noodle" (Yes, I have both), longish ramp, roomy hooks and you can get a flat transition from tops to hoods. The main difference is a 25mm longer reach on the Noodle/DA7402 levers than the PRO/Ultegra 6700 levers. I don't really notice it that much due to differences in hood shape.

The 174 is probably the closest to what you want if you want a shorter reach..just use a shim for the stem...
Otherwise the Compass are similar but there is no bend to come back towards you from the stem clamp

Ritchey neo Classic I have one in my garage its about a year old let me know if interested, it has that classic shape but has level ramps on top like a noodle so the hoods are up high not way down like say a cinelli bar. The main difference between the ritchey and s noodle is the sizing 31.8 the weight a lot lighter and the reach is shorter than a noodle

That's also what I assumed by the question.

I agree with jtbadge that the Compass Maes in 31.8 is the closest thing were this what the OP was actually after. They don't have that weird drop or bend back toward the rider, but the long ramps, parallel drops and similar drop are there.

I agree except that I was bothered by how the tops drop from the stem clamp. I never understood why that is desirable.

I'd want the Maes Parallel, but there's also a Compass 'Randonneur' bar in 31.8 that does have the bend towards the rider, but not the drop on either side of the stem clamp.

The Maes probably already has more flare than the Noodle. The rando bars have enough flare as to raise the tops/ramps. I don't think it's quite as simple as taking the Maes bar and bending it up a few inches from the stem clamp, but practically it's not far from that.

I ride the Compass Maes and VO version (Course bar) and they're definitely my favorite shape. Most people who've only ridden modern short bars would probably be thrown off by the long ramps even if they adjusted their stem accordingly. I recently tried the Shimano Pro Vibe 7s Round and I liked a lot of things about it, but the fact that it had zero flare made it very uncomfortable to ride in the drops.

The (I think now discontinued) PRO Vibe OS Round has some similarities to the Mod.177 "Noodle" (Yes, I have both), longish ramp, roomy hooks and you can get a flat transition from tops to hoods. Ha. I don't know how you can say that a 79mm reach bar has "longish ramps".

I really hope those aren't discontinued. They're my favorite bar. Have 'em on all but 1 bike, and the one that doesn't have it is only because i'm too lazy to undo everything and install new bar.

p.s. the compact vibe 7s round is a gem also.
