"Promax" stems?

these look very nice to my eye. minimal graphics and good looking lines/form factor.

anyone know about them? i also cant seem to confirm the bar size - i assume 31.8, but that's not specified unless i miss it.

I think they started in BMX stuff. I have a MTB seatpost. Didn't realize they were doing road stuff. That's a nice looking stem.

I remember them as a cheap brake OEM for when product planners needed to save a few dollars and meet a price point. Promax brakes were usually included on sub-$1500 bikes.

What I know about alloy stems is some are made from 7000 series aluminum, and are about same weight as a carbon one. And some from cheaper and heavier 6000 series aluminum. This is probably 6000 series....going by price. But don't know.

And they all look about the same to me. I'm sure the above stem is made by some stem maker who makes stems for lots of other companies. Probably a sturdy and reliable product. Buy it if you like it.

Check out the alloy difference between a Ritchey WCS stem, and a lower price stem, and you will see what I mean by material difference. Or Cannondale C1 stems VS C2, C3 etc.
