Does it matter if last gen (2009) cups are used with new gen (2015) cranks?

No but best cups were/are a green-ish color. First gen(2007) were silver, next were goldish, last green. All they did was improve, tighten tolerances.

I'm reading this post and I'm thinking "darn, this guy knows a lot!"

Then I recognize the signature. :)

Hi Peter...thanks for all that you do for the sport!

(and you rebuilt a couple of sets of Record Ergo shifters for me over the years!)

Well this makes me happy because I've been hoarding one set for the far superior Italian threads and I think they are of a greenish color. I didn't use it because I didn't like the greenish color....but I do now!
