I am putting SPDs on a vintage frame with all silver components. Any recommendations on something all silver, and hopefully lightweight? SPD for mountain shoes, not SPD-SL for road. Or maybe a good adapter?

Thanks!

SHIMANO PD-A600 That's what I've got on a retro-build

PD-A530 or A600 are what you're after.

And they’re nice since they double SPD and platform (I have an old pair of A520s).

be aware that the A600 comes in a dark grey color, which i believe is much more common now also. they are a nice finish, but definitely not bright silver. you can still find the silver ones, just be aware they are not all silver.

I use the A 600s. But not only are they a dark/medium gray, the color scratches up easily, and then they look terrible. The A 520s are all silver, and I think the M 520s are the same pedal, also all silver,

The PD-A520 is one model down from the A600. It's also a lightweight, single sided, spd pedal that uses the standard 2 bolt spd cleat. I differs from the A600 in that the A520 has a polished silver finish and a simple bearing system. I have them on a few vintage bikes, and I think they look fine. You can easily buff the logo off the sides with fine steel wool for a stealthy look.

Turns out I had a 520 in the parts bin, so it's decided!
