Hey folks - soon to be owner of a Renovo John Day! I cannot figure out what this bike should have as far as water bottle cages. Help! :)

I think it could depend heavily on the (color of the) wood(s) used in your frame.
For mine, I tried several types of cages - steel, ti, carbon, plastic - and the carbon was easily the best looking on my Renovo. (Sorry that my only cage-mounted photo doesn't show the cage very well.)

Awesome ride! Is that a JD?
And those cages are wonderful! Bottom one is not real wood, right? Links? THANKS!

Thanks! I love my Renovo - it's an Elwood, one of their show bikes from years ago that I bought from them.
That bottom one is carbon with a painted faux wood finish.
JoeBike and Sykes are two places to start looking for real wood cages.
I did also consider a real wood cage for my Renovo, but felt that the inevitable mismatch with the wood in my frame would detract and annoy me. If you can find a wood cage that is made from the same wood(s) as your frame, and matches, go for it!
One other thing, IMO - notice how my build is pretty much non-bling black. To my eyes, that helps the frame really pop and stand out, as it should!
