yea, agreed. if the hoot protrudes too much you can't get "proper" orientation with campy skewer either.

I ran into the same issue with my Campy skewer, so I just use a generic one when the bike is on the trainer. Don't want to mark up the campy skewers anyway so win-win.

I had a customer tell me this worked...

No guarantee just going by what he said.

It's not skewer that is the main problem it's the hooded dropouts.

That said you should always use a standard steel "trainer skewer"

Most trainers come with one.

No issues at all with my Ritchey Breakaway with hooded dropouts. I use a Tacx trainer skewer.

There you have it. It's gotta be the same dropout.

That said the issue is still a real one with other frames. Many carbon frames run into this issue. Sometimes it a matter of the right skewer to sneak in without hitting. We ran into issues with BMC frames in the past. Trainer would fit but just barely. Easy to crack the clear coat....customers love that!

Also depends on the trainer interface as some are narrower.

I called Kurt Kinetic and they sent me slimmer replacement cups for the trainer free of charge. Very pleased with their excellent and friendly customer service.
