Extra thick skewer for older 135mm Bontrager rear MTB disc hub?

Does anyone know the spec for the extra thick skewer for an older 135mm Bontrager rear MTB disc hub? A typical 5mm skewer has some extra space, so I wonder if it requires a 7mm thick skewer?

The wheel is a Bontrager Race Lite Series 6000 OSB TLR XXIX rear 135mm disc.

And if so, where can I find one?

I have never seen anything like that. The skewer just holds the wheel in and the axle keeps it in the dropout. Does it really matter?
