So....this friend of mine is thinking of trying out a disk brake CX bike. If he, er...she...er, they wanted to find info on what options were available and how to spec and set up, is there an online tutorial they could access?
This is for a friend.

...and what type of Tubes? (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H40VDzSYaLI)

I'd start by asking your...errr....friend... what drivetrain is planned for the build.

They are a person of the Campy persuasion.

Then they should search for a frame with flat mount disc mounts as campys discs are not compatible with anything else as far as i know.

My friend isn't worried so much about the bike as the disc/hub/brake/wheel set up. They've never ridden anything other than rim brakes, 'cause rim brakes are super cool.

They're not opposed to TRP et al. brake set ups, as long as the drive train remains Campy.

Ah okay the dont "need" hydraulics, that opens up the options for various calipers. However if they are true campyfiles they may still want the option to upgrade to hydros in the future in which case it could be worth noting the flat mount "issue".

They're still riding 10 speed so hydro is down the road a far piece.

"What's that?"

They just asked if the '13+ TRP spyre was a good brake and played well with Campy levers.

There have been mixed reviews with the Campy / Spyre combination. Campy levers don't have as much cable pull as Shimano or Sram. I don't have personal experience, but what I've read would have me choosing Avid BB7 over Spyres. I have ridden a Sram / Spyre combination and was unimpressed. I honestly think if discs are in your future , hydraulic is the way to go.
