OT - Canadian cell phone plan deal

For the Canucks that may not be aware - the carriers are offering 10 gigs and Canada wide calling for $60/ month. offer ends today. Be ready for a looooong wait when you eventually get through. My friend's wife had a 3 hour wait on the weekend.

For the non Canucks, try to hold your laughter at the cost of our plans.

I hear they're making it so so one can actually activate the plan. No one I know has got through on the phone. I suspect this is a ploy to claim they're advertising fair rates but making sure no one actually gets them. Canadians pay the most in the developed world for cell phones (and internet).

It took me just over an hour on hold to get through.
I've changed the plan. Still on the phone now finishing up.

Bumped into a friend last night that took 3 hours on the phone.
ANother friend on Bell said it was fast using online chat.

My daughters are both at university in Canada and have brought their US T-mobile phones with them. They get unlimited calls, unlimited texts and unlimited data (however it can be throttled back after 5 MB per month) and are always on the best roaming network. All their Canadian friends are jealous. I won't tell you how little we spend as part of our family plan as it would depress you. Some of their European friends have also brought their European phone/plan with them and are likewise getting supercheap rates (however are not able to phone locally)

Cell phone plans really suck here!!

I have a friend that works for Bell, and he tries to justify the cost for service. I don't even listen to him...it is really ridiculous here for cost.
I have 4 cell phones along with TV/Internet on my Bell plan, and it's $550 per month.
