So my junk bike's been creaking for a while and I finally took it to my LBS and when he opened it up, the fork was rusting... badly. He told me it was worse because its a steel fork with an aluminum steerer (or something like that) and he put anti-seize on the threads.

Since this forum has converted me into a steel believer I was wondering if getting one of these cheap all steel cinelli genius forks off gvh would be less rust prone or if I should just spend the extra 20$ for a cheap carbon fork?

ps. I do abuse, drop, throw down, ride in gravel/construction with this bike... its a 100$ aluminum nashbar frame. I would rather a steel fork since I won't be paranoid about cracks and things from negligence and pricks who always move my bike on the bike rack at work.
