That is correct. Oven cleaner to remove black, then polished back out. Fyxo had an article about it a while back.

Edit: August Bicycles out of the UK had a set posted on his instagram a while back, those are most likely his: Polished Campag Hubs (https://instagram.com/p/BRAfXqPBR7g/)

Kind of a mixed bag here. The QRs are from 2003 vintage Record hubs. How did the logos get applied? Are they decals?

They do look good!

They look great, beyond me why Campagnolo does not offer their Record hubs in silver.

They are gorgeous when polished. It's probably quicker and cheaper to anodize them, and black is so "tech modern" and goes so well with carbon, I'm sure the marketing team loves it.

This just popped into my head (as I sit here sipping my Chimay): what is the D-ring on the quick release used for?

It's funny. PEZ and I are working on a bike for NAHBS and it has to have Campy wheels to even be considered to win. We were trying to figure out what to do and this popped up. I love it! Love the idea of doing this. Just need to get moving on it if that's the way we go. I wish Campagnolo would offer silver polished hubs like this again. But they take a lot more time to make than just a black anodized hubset.

Tighten QR leverage then fare into the wind or push down for more aero-ness......:)

Looks an awful lot like CycloRetro's work.

I'd prefer Campy offer their hubs in other drillings than 32h before they worry about some retro fetish silver.

That's just Campag's marketing squadra being clever. Subtly diverting you over to the prebuilt wheelsets, without you knowing it.

Which are also fantastic, so it ain't the end of the world. Would just be nice to get some 24h Record hubs.
