I would like to run a complete 6800 group except for the crankset, which I would like to keep at 6700. Is there a way to make this work? I have both 6800 and 6700 front derailleurs in my parts bin so either of those is an option. Will the 6800 chain fit on the 6700 chain rings?

Thanks for the help.

I've been using a 9000 group with the exception of 7800 crankset. Works great.

6700 crank will be fine. 6800 shifters will only talk to '11s' front ders(5800/6800/9000), not the 6700..use the 6800.. 11s Chain on 6700 crank no problema.

Agreed. No issues with full 6800 and a 6700 crank. I've ridden thatcombo for a little bit. Sinilarly, I also used a 10 speed FSA crank/rings on an otherwise full 6800 build for a few years with no issues.

Best,
Z

I have a bike with 6800 shifters and derailleurs with a CX70 crankset --- zero problems.

It should work flawlessly, I would think.

I did it the other way: 6800 everything but a CX-70 front derailleur. That works fine too.
