Or maybe Rapha, but probably not, since the blurb didn't mention anything about leather from Nepalese yaks.

Or maybe Rapha...

My thoughts exactly. All it needs is a touch of pink, so your friends will know what you paid.

Super-premium pricing with no technical justification other than marketing hype....all they need is a few folks to buy something and they make huge margins on what is almost certainly all white-labeled made-in China parts that you could buy at any other shop for way less.

I hope you opted for the 44 cm bar width option to lower the cost per linear length! You could sell the scraps.

Bar tape aside, the wheels look interesting, prices are reasonable, especially with full ceramic bearings.

Having a difficult time getting past the brand name

apparently it's led by a couple of former pros....Baden Cooke and David Millar, namely. They claim to "own their own factory", whatever that means, but don't specifically mention what they make there. Guess they initially focused on wheels and are now trying to sell other super-premium stuff.

I can't get past the logo.....supposed to be an interlocking B and I but looks like a B and T? Oyvey they should've hired a better graphic designer....

I tried to purchase two rolls for $800 but they insisted on a $10 shipping charge...back to Amazon Prime for me.

I just sent an inquiry as to whether or not the price listed is in fact a typo. I'll update if and when they respond.

It is definitely a typo. It was previously listed as $40.

Black Inc. is the sister company of Factor. I'm not sure the details, but it's generally the same people behind Factor bikes and things are made in the same factory that makes the Factor frames. I cannot personally comment on the wheels since I only rode a set of them about four miles until I swapped them out for my Powertap wheels. I'd never used a one-piece bar/stem combination before and to my surprise, I really liked it. Really nice (and expensive) stuff is their business model.

I wonder what Cannondale thinks about them using "Black Inc"...Maybe they need to ask Sinyard for an attorney referral. :help:

Seems like the tape must come with the carbon handlebar, why else does the buyer choose handlebar width?

Something amiss, tape is just a consumable unless you are perhaps doing a leather-wrapped (and shellacked!) piece of bike-art.

So it's made in the Factor factory for frames? Factoring that into account, is the price Fact Or fiction?

Black Inc posted a photo of their new bottle cage on instagram.

I politely asked for the weight as it costs $65.

They told me to check the site. It's not listed.

Some guy replied that weight should not matter and and that "real cages weigh more and actually don't kill people".

Wow.

Someone's been killed by a water bottle cage?

Haha, I remember Factor! They came out with the Factor 001 integrated system bike or something like that. It included "Shimano di2" parts and the retail price for the bike was...are you sitting...ready...$36,000! LOL!

I bet they sold a million of them....LOL! Good Luck!

PS - I wonder if they're made by Giant, they sure look like one....

Apparently, more riders have kicked it because of water bottle cages than we all think.

I believe the started off doing things like that as more of concepts than really expecting to sell much of anything and wouldn't be too surprised if they didn't sell any at $36k and were just trying to use that to underwrite development costs. Rob already had a business going making bikes for others. The current bikes are not made by Giant or anyone else.

Sister Comapny to Factor Bikes.

Factor Bikes who also made these bars?

Granted probably improperly set but not confidence inspiring.

It's been established that there was some miscommunication and the team mechanic wasn't aware of proper installation for that particular set up. Basically, the rider asked for a position that wasn't compatible with the design of that bike's front end.

Neither the rider nor the mechanic were part of Ag2r pro team. Right before the start of the TT, the rider asked the mechanic to add a spacer to increase the bar height and the mechanic obliged, resulting in the bolts not having enough thread.
